Levels of Intuition: Downloading Information from the Field

www.healingmeditations.net

The ancient tradition of Chi Kung tells us that we are surrounded by a field of energy. This field of energy exists inside of us, all around us and is the “stuff” the universe is comprised of. It connects us to one another and to everything in the universe. It is like the water a fish swims in.
Quantum mechanics describes this field as sub atomic particles in a matrix or medium which connects two or more points in space. These fields are constantly changing and rearranging by exchanges of energy.

Knots of energy emerge from the field as discrete entities react with other particles and then disappear back into the field.
These sub atomic particles or quanta form into waves when they are interacting with one another in a coherent way. As more and more quanta join into the waves that are oscillating at the same frequency and amplitude, the wave or signal becomes stronger and stronger. Eventually, the neutral field becomes discrete and information is exchanged.
So the Field is an invisible, infinite sea of energy that connects all matter (this means you and I!) We are a part of this web.

If you are still with me….you may be wondering “What in the world does this have to do with intuition or even more importantly me and my life!?

Well….thoughts are energy. Thoughts organize the field.  This is especially true when great numbers of people are experiencing the same event or praying meditating together. When the field becomes organized the information is exchanged.

Of course, this field of energy operates and exists beyond space in time.  It is everywhere and connects everything. That is how we sometimes know, when the phone rings, who is on the other end of the line. Someone is thinking of us and reaching out to us and alters the Field in such a way that we can pick up on the information being projected. This also explains the sudden knowing of an event outside that is beyond our personal space/time parameters. We can even pick up on what is going to happen as there is no time in the field. All possibilities exist simultaneously.
I can relate an example of this from my own experience. In 1998, I had a strange dream of Japanese girls all dressed in white dancing. When I mentioned this dream to a friend, she looked surprised and asked,
“Didn’t you watch the opening ceremony of the Olympics last night?” I replied that no, I hadn’t watched TV at all. She then described the opening ceremony of the Japanese winter Olympics. A long line of Japanese girls dressed in white dancing! I believe that because this was such a strong imprint in the field my sub conscious mind could pick up on it.

The Field is neutral, neither bad nor good. It has consciousness in the sense that it is effected by everything that happens on our earth and it responds to thoughts and events. It is the intentionality of our consciousness and the intentionality of all life forms that organizes the field into meaning.

The Global ConsciousnessProject has been studying this phenomenon for fifteen years. They are is an international, multidisciplinary collaboration of scientists and engineers that collect data continuously from a global network of physical random number generators. These number generator just produce 1s and 0s in a completely random order. These generators are located in up to 70 host sites around the world at any given time. The data are transmitted to a central archive. Incredibly, these numbers become more synchronized, beyond the level of chance, when a world event occurs or even before it occurs. Before 911, the numbers became less random showing a fluctuation in the unconscious minds of many, many people.  How our intentionality or even just observation interacts with random or neutral energy is explained in this fun video.

Science shows up us what the mystics, sages and Chi Kung masters have known for thousands of years. We are connected. Our thoughts create meaning from a neutral field of energy. This field is life affirming, and responds to our thoughts. It especially responds to lots of people thinking the same things. It is not constrained by time or space because it is everywhere at the same time.
So imagine and think positive thoughts about yourself and others and you will be contributing to the world in a positive way!
And know that when your mind is quiet and your energy system is open, you can download information from this field that is not constrained by space or time. The best way to be able to tap into the Field with your intuition is to Meditate.

Levels of Intuition: The Collective Unconscious

Joseph Campbell, the author of the Power of Myth, said: “My studies have revealed the unity of the race of man, not only in its biology but also in its spiritual history, which has everywhere unfolded in the manner of a single symphony”
zen

Just as the personal subconscious is individual and separate from others, the collective unconscious unites us. Our brains and bodies are the very much the same and we have more common with one another than not. So people all over the world tend to create the same myths and archetypal images even when separated by geographic distance. Many ancient cultures, for example, talk about a great flood. These cultures did not have contact with one another, yet the myths are surprisingly similar. Perhaps there was a great flood at one time? Or..it may be that water, a symbol of the unconscious, overwhelms everyone, and therefore a myth arose to give expression to this experience.
All cultures have stories about angels, spirits and deities that exist outside and beyond our three dimensional experience. Once again, we can wonder do all peoples carry this idea because spiritual energies actually exist? Or is there a need for all humans of all races, cultures and times to create these beings to fulfill a fundamental need?
 flood copy
Personally, my direct experience as led me to believe that angels and helpful energetic beings really do exist. I believe they are energies that exist on a plane of reality that is parallel to ours, but that is vibrating at a higher frequency. But that is a subject for another blog…..
Because we all have similar needs on an emotional/spiritual level we tend to create archetypes that are common to all peoples in all times. Some examples of archetypes seen in all world religions of all peoples are:
Father/ Mother:usually the Sun represents father, the earth mother
Trickster: Coyote, Raven, Jester
Fertility: Spring, Egg, Gardens, Young Maiden, Corn shoots, Flowers/Blossoms
Death: Grim Reaper, Angel of Death, The Owl
Anima: The inner male (Carl Jung)
Animus: The inner female (Carl Jung)

beautiful maidenanima

Both men and women have both the anima and animus.
These are only a few of the archetypes that are our vast heritage of symbols. We relate to these archetypes in our dreams, art, music, religion and stories.
All people also carry the burdens and gift of our ancestors. One of my readers, Evelyn Wray, proposes that we also carry future realities within us. These ideas are mirrored in the life cycle of the caterpillar.
f6ee8-butterfly
When a caterpillar transforms into a butterfly it melts inside its cocoom into a shapeless blob of goo. But within that goo, is the DNA of its old caterpillar self and the DNA of the butterfly.  Nature tends  to have patterns that repeat so I wonder if we carry in our DNA the memories of our ancestors as well as future possibilities? Its an interesting idea…..and would love to hear theories, explanations, comments or other questions from all of you who are reading this!
So what does these commonalities have to do with Intuition?
We can look for archetypes and symbols in our dreams that transcend the personal for information and guidance. We can pay attention to the symbols that appear over and over again in our environment. We may see multiple sightings of a bird, or other animal and can be sure that we are noticing in our outer environment an inner universal symbol. We consciously activate specific archetypes to help us in our lives. For example, when giving actual birth or birth to a project we can think about and surround ourselves with flowers, spend time in a garden, notice growing things.
Spirit is always talking to us through symbols and images and Spirit has a lot to say!

Intuitions and Levels of Reality

We are multi dimensional beings living in a multi dimensional universe. Intuition as information comes to us in different forms, depending on what level of reality we are paying attention to and listening to. The different levels of reality that we can receive intuitive information from are:
1. Personal Subconscious  The sum of all our individual  experiences/knowledge from present and past lives
2. Collective subconscious The sum of all sentient personal subconsciousness.
3. The Field - The field of information that holds past, present, future that is brought into manifestation by our thoughts and attention, individual and collective.
4. . Inter-dimensional Consciousness knowledge, information and experiences that flows into our personal and collective  subconscious from angels, spirit guides, ancestors and other energetic beings.

First, lets talk about the Personal Subconscious......
Picture1Anything that we know how to do really well, and have done many, many times, is to some degree, automated and unconscious. Malcom Gladwell in his book "Blink" describes the personal subconscious as Rapid Cognition.
When you meet someone for the first time, or walk into a house you are thinking of buying, or read the first few sentences of a book, your mind takes about two seconds to jump to a series of conclusions. These conclusions are drawn from the great storehouse of all our knowledge and experience from our present life and past lives. This is Rapid Cognition!

Our subconscious minds process information much faster than our conscious minds and take in much more detail. The subconscious  processes this information all at once in global fashion. That is how you suddenly just "know" the answer to a problem, or feel something about your environment. This type often flows to us through the kinesthetic channel, i.e.,We just feel the answer in our bodies.
brain

I have been yoga instructor for many years. I can watch someone move in class, and feel the way their body is put together as I adjust them in a yoga posture, and intuitively know what sport they have engaged in the present or the past. I make it a game and will say in a lighthearted way, "You feel like a swimmer." Or.. "I bet you used to wrestle in high school."I am very often right! This may appear as if I am psychic, but I don't think so. I think my personal subconscious is processing many discrete bits of sensory information simultaneously so I just "know" the sport the person has engaged in. I am also a massage therapist and very often my hands will "just go"  to the place that hurts. I think my personal subconscious senses from many details and impressions where the person is hurting and I feel a resonance in my body when I encounter someone else's pain.

We live in a society dedicated to the idea that we're always better off gathering as much information and spending as much time as possible in deliberation. This is Not always true when:
Fast decision making is required
Facts are not available
Assessing people, places
Emotional Situations or Issues
Gladwell talks about the efficiency and accuracy of "thin slicing".
blink
Thin slicing is the ability of the personal subconscious to make decisions and come to conclusions on a very small bit of information. He talks about a Roman Artifact that was purchased by a well known museum in Europe that was scientifically tested as being authentic, but ultimately was found to be forged. All the scientific tests showed the artifact to be real. But when a group of Art historians and archaeologists looked at the artifact, without doing any testing at all, they came to the conclusion that the artifact was fake. The said things like, "It just doesn't look right. " and "Something is just wrong about it. It was the huge array of details and information their minds were processing below the verbal level that led them to the correct conclusion. Later, after more testing, the artifact was indeed, proved to be fake.

Our personal subconscious can often be a warning system for us. One of the main jobs of our personal subconscious is to keep us safe from harm. We may walk into a room, or meet a new person, and just "know" something isn't right. We often feel this warning in our solar plexus which is the center of our survival intuition. Our subconscious minds may have noticed some disturbing detail our conscious minds haven't picked up on. If I get a strong feeling of unease in a situation or place I will immediately leave if possible!
hippie
There is a down side to using the personal subconscious as your guidance system. It can be easily swayed by the stereotypes you hold. We all are familiar with the term "profiling." Profiling is a misuse of  "thin slicing." We reach an erroneous conclusion based on a very small amount of information that may have personal importance to us. Because we knew a long haired man that smoked pot, we assume all long haired men indulge. Projection is another faulty use of the subconscious. If we have aspects of ourselves we are unaware of we will project those qualities onto others. For instance, if were are unaware of our anger we may see and experience others as angry.

Beware of any quick perceptions of others that involve alot of judgement or negative emotions! This is a sign you are not using your subconscious in an accurate manner.
It is very important to understand the stereotypes and projections you are operating under!

Here are some tips to developing and using your personal subconscious
-Our personal subconscious can be relied upon! It should be trusted. When you have a hunch about something, especially something you know alot about, listen to it and try to verify if you can like I do with my yoga students.
-Listen and feel your body. All intuition is a sudden knowing that is usually accompanied by a physical sensation:
A constriction in the gut or solar plexus-This is most common in personal subconscious when a warning is being communicated.
•An explicable feeling of relaxation and warmth in the body
•A feeling of tingling excitement
•A feeling of strength in the belly
It can be any physical feeling! Get to know what your particular intuitive  sign may be.
-When you meet someone new, notice your immediate perceptions. As you talk to the person and get to know them, see what perceptions were accurate and which were not. Notice if any of your inaccurate perceptions were based on stereotypes or projections.
Next week we'll explore the Collective Unconscious! I hope you will join me. Would love to hear any stories you may have about using your Intuition.
Warmly,

Develop Your Intuition as Your Guidance System

All of us have intuition! I think it is less common that people actually use their intuition as guidance system. I am going to be posting a series on intuition, what it is and how to use it as your guidance system.. But first .....what is intuition ?
Intuition is a sixth sense we all posses. It is an inner knowing that is arrived at without evident rational thought. This knowing is beyond time and space and comes to us in various forms:
  • Clairaudience-Hearing
  • Clairvoyance-Seeing
  • Clairsentience-Knowing, feeling
Clairaudience is that soft, quiet voice that inspires, give us helpful information and sometimes warns us.
Clarivoyance is the information we receive in dreams and inner/outer vision. It can be just a flash of a mental image.
Clair sententience is a "gut feeling" and physical knowing about a person or situation or place.
What form does you intuition come to you as? It may be all three forms or you might have a special channel. All the clairs can be developed and refined.
It is very important to know that all intuition is helpful, positive, loving and life enhancing. If you are getting information that would harm yourself or others this is NOT intuition and should not be acted upon.
There are many benefits to developing your intuition. Here are just a few:
Reduce stress and stop unecessary energy gains
-Increase your effectiveness at work
-Boost your creativity
-Enhance your communication with others
-Develop intuitive self guidance
-Facilitate the  decision making process
-Improve your health
-Improve your connection to Self and other and helping energies such as angels and spirit guides

I am hoping you will join me on this journey to explore intuition!
Next post we will delve further into intuition and begin to learn how we can use it daily.
One of the most important first steps is to really listen to your impressions, inner voice and feelings. You can keep a journal if you like.
Remember Spirit is always talking to each and everyone of you!!
Peace,
